Where a restaurant week gets messy

Kitchen rostering software and wastage records, built around three problems.

  • Kitchen and floor are different crews on different hours, and you roster both.

One roster, two teams, and a long weekend coming.

  • More goes in the bin than you would like, and nobody can say what or why.

Wastage is hard to cut when nobody writes down what was thrown out.

  • Orders go to six suppliers, and each one wants them a different way.

Every supplier has its own cut-off and minimum order.

Restaurant rostering and stock questions

Can I roster the kitchen and the floor separately?

Yes, you can put the kitchen and the floor in separate departments, and limit your head chef to the kitchen if you like.

Can I record why stock was thrown out?

Yes, every write-off carries a reason, so you can see what went in the bin and why. You can also cap how much one person can write off.

Can I stop a big order going out without approval?

Yes, set a spending limit, and any purchase order above it waits for a manager to approve or reject it.
